Just as quickly as Nuno Espirito Santos's team is counter-attacking, Nottingham has managed to rise from relegation candidates to Champions League contenders. The mood is different around the Red Devils, who are currently in 13th place with 17 points fewer than the hosts. Manchester United hasn't been among the Premier League's top clubs for quite some time now but being underdogs against Nottingham is still likely to dent the Red Devils' ego. In December of last year Nottingham celebrated a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford. Before their next clash with Manchester United, the hosts have won two consecutive head-to-head matches. The extent to which Manchester United has slipped this season can be measured by various stats. One statistic shows that the 20-time English champions are one of only three teams yet to achieve a run of two consecutive wins this season. Participation in the next Champions League season is actually only possible by winning this year's Europa League. Nottingham however currently ranked 3rd in the Premier League is hoping for direct qualification for the Champions League. |
